Hi, I’m Erika Surma; I’m from Fairfax, Virginia, and I own a Pilates studio called REV Pilates Gym. I own the studio with Brittany, and we started the business late 2015. We probably were running the business about 5 months before we came across NPE, and things were not working. We were in the hole the end of the year in 2015, negative $16,000 in profit.
We didn’t have any members. People were just kind of paying as they go. We had nothing to really plan on, so the first thing we needed to do was create some recurring revenue. That’s the first thing we had worked on with NPE, and I can say that we’ve gone from having zero members, to currently, about 3.5 years later (from our opening), to 95 members. We ended the year 2018 with about $129,000 in net profit, so big, big changes. They’ve been a game-changer for us.
Looking at my personal life, I can take days off work. I work 4 days a week. Three days a week I don’t go into the studio…not that I don’t do work at home, but I’m not in the studio, spending time there away from my family. I have a savings plan. I have a retirement plan. I have college funds for my children. I really never imagined these things possible before NPE.
