Sam Beagle – “From Working 140+ Hours/Month To Running The Business While Taking 6 Weeks Vacation”

Sam owned a studio with just a few clients and when he went on holiday to Vietnam, he left another trainer in charge of the studio who he thought was a good guy. In the two weeks, he was away, multiple clients emailed Sam saying that the trainer was cursing at them, wasn’t showing up to sessions, and then he quit.

In November 2014, Sam joined the NPE Coaching ACADEMY™ Program and created a goal to go on a six-week holiday in July that would go better than the last. He put systems in place, grew a team of four staff members, and started selling large packages instead of low-priced memberships.

Now that Sam had a team, he went on his six-week holiday. Despite having his studio flooded twice in two weeks, his team quickly took care of it.

Sam grew his monthly income from £2,900 to £11,000 in just one year. In 2014, his annual revenue was £53k and he’s on track to hit £120k this year. Sam no longer trains his clients and instead works on growing the business.

“Before NPE, I never paid myself. In January, I looked at my bank balance and it was zero. Now with systems in place, it’s changed quite a lot.”

So how many of you want to make money with everyone today? Hands up? Everyone doesn’t know, of course. So, for me, it was your name, Sam. And over the last six months, I’ve kind of followed instructions from Nikki. And now Kev, and pretty much done it. So before talking about that, just wanna talk about myself. played football pretty much in my life. I left the age of 20. Professionally, when I went was dead. And who else? Yeah, will stone. And then we’re not to do my life had no qualifications, just GCSEs and that was it. For me pause the training time was just something on the side, I can earn a bit of extra money. 3040 pounds, and that was it for me to get a view to go back into full time football. And it can’t go into me that, oh, it’s the wrong presentation. It’s the wrong one. But um, can we change it or not?

Can we change it to one presentation? No. Okay, so I’ll skip back to the pictures anyway. But for me, we had we had the studio in and last year. This is actually this is up in two weeks ago, three weeks. So anyway, so last year, I went on holiday, Bushido in August 2013. And in that time, there’s nothing really there. It was just an empty studio. It’s changed now. But I want to wait for two weeks to Vietnam. And in those two weeks, have all had gone bought for Hey, everything be fine. I’ll leave it No problem, come back and everything be the same. That’s before I had MP. I didn’t know two weeks. I think I checked Facebook a few times and a few emails. And literally a week into my trip in Vietnam in 2014. I had letters from my clients I had, the staff was in a few two people and he just didn’t set up the sessions counseled him. He told me that, hey, I’ve had enough for the unlikely clients I’m going and when you’re like 4000 miles miles away in Vietnam, there’s not much you can do. So I said, Don’t worry, Ronnie will be fine. My studio was shot for actually a week at that time. And I was also not making any money. I was just paying rent for the space. But for me, I joined MP in November, I think. And in journaling time when I spoke to Chris and Andrew the university, I realized perhaps have a goal in mind. so awful. You know what this book is 16 holiday in July, hopefully go better than the last one. And everything around fine. So for me, I had to get systems. I had to grow as a person. And obviously had a holiday. So I did something a goal in mind had to achieve.

And I had nothing in place. Literally, it was just me at that time.

Jenny Zombieland, she just mean, is it so hard to have more people more revenue throughout a cover up, obviously, and so forth. So for me, I put systems in place, stuff for clients and staff. We have Asana, Google Drive, Infusionsoft rules of glances row in front desk. And they’re really, really good applications. We never utilize anything, everything was always cash in hand. And so it’s like Google Drive. That’s where our clients and our staff upload stuff. We can check it. And if, for instance, macrotrends on a Monday, Tim can go on a Tuesday or Wednesday and same training, same person, but understand what’s been happening and what will need to be done. Infusionsoft, we actually run a 21 day campaign. I bought it I think, before spring training, and at that time, I didn’t realize you have to tweak the actual campaign a little bit for yourself. So I just press play sending one out. And it was like insert testimonial insert name. It was terrible. But anyway, out of that, we had quite a lot of people apply. And that was about 10 to 15,000 pounds worth of recurring revenue. Yeah. I obviously tweaked after that. I didn’t realize at the time everyone said, Hey, you know, your pages like, this is blank. I was like, where are we going about what actually didn’t leave a note as a landing page. Anyway, that’s, that is literally how I wanted it. Every front desk. So for instance, our reporting and our client booking stuff is all done through there is so easy to do. We just take cash in hand. And I remember saying to Nikki as to Chris, in was a Johnny song between the EU and I didn’t actually make any sales I will do in sales and be like, hey, join us up to a program. I like Yeah, cool. Alicia used to send them away and make them up online. at home. I think Chris almost slapped me like what are you doing man get actually signed on in the session. So yeah, we have to change logically from them. We took payments through front desk and our iPad, and literally from February time is improved by a lot Asana, we use that with Infusionsoft. So like our task kind of management stuff. And it’s linked with Infusionsoft is wrong. So for admin, that sends us daily and for myself to get over, and I can check and see if things have been done. If not, I can change Robin say, hey, look, these things can be done. But it gives us a good communication platform. And then fixed line stick lines is really good at just kind of where we track our progress on the client. So we can see as their goals wanting to achieve, and if they miss a when it says, Hey, sort itself out itself, or when you have a good way, and it says good job with the bad way, and it says, Hey, don’t worry about it. Let’s just move on and get cracking. So from February time, literally after vpu, with just me, we’ve grown to a team of four. Max is here today, there’ll be another fifth person joining next week. And admin as Esther, the lady that moves into full time person trainer. And in June 2014, last year, we basically took in about 3900 pounds a month, every time when we started doing sales in the studio, that’s about 400,000. And then June this year hit 11,000 pounds. So it’s a pretty big increase. And that’s just yeah, that’s just monthly. So that’s pretty cool. And in terms of the time I’ve done so post training boot camps, I was doing about 170 hours. Over that time up to about this time last year, I wasn’t about to come here, I was too busy. And I was pretty much tired. And in August time when it went away, we don’t tune in 40 hours, or post training boot camp because I didn’t do a single thing. I was just waking up in on holiday in China or wherever was and just checking in once a week and hope things are going smoothly. They were so if you look at our growth, for instance, before the IP University we’re selling memberships, but a month, so just cash in hand of boot camp for the top end was 79 per month, as unlimited as much you want to come and it’s now changed and we kind of sell it back is now at 2000 3400 pounds for 12 months or 18 months. It’s gone. I think with the PT is always selling like three 400 pound a month 10 sessions kind of get one free. And that’s changed. I think in February, I’m sold one of our clients like a 6800 pound package every 12 months is a massive change. Yeah, it’s pretty cool. And then as all right in terms of like before MP so 2014 I’ve done about 53,000 pounds in in revenue. And in the last six months. From April time pretty much for now I’ve done 65 grand, so hopefully, I could be 120 hundred 30,000 pound a little bit more. So it’s a nice increase year on it. That’s literally just implement the systems and mail to make sure our staff can handle it.

So then I went on holiday. And zone one is smoothly went to China went to Cambodia. Taiwan is some amazing islands and whitewater rafting with elephant trekking, Great Wall of China Terracotta Army. I’ve got loads of pictures. On one, I took about 10,000 pictures. I was just like slow, snappy. And it’s horrible trying to upload them to Facebook. You know, you just oh my god. But yeah, it’s a great time. While Yeah, wakeboarding as well. In Hong Kong, that was a great experience. But then imagine your worst nightmare when you’re away for six weeks, not much you can do. Luckily, I have a good good team in place. And next slide will be in that. But

Unknown Speaker
go back.

Sam Beagle
That happened when I was away. We had like a flood to floods pretty much. And it covered the whole place. My team he didn’t tell me. But when I got back, they were like, hey, we’ve had a little bit of an issue with the studio. But don’t worry about it so fine. Like it’s all sorted. We’re all good. Don’t worry about it. Now that’s fine, don’t why muscled out and then I don’t have to send me a picture of that. And then suddenly three pictures and sweeping it will do natural Rubik’s for a few days, I think. But yeah, I could try. But uh, but yeah, that happens. And luckily the systems are in place. And the team has you share the same core values that we’ve grown over the last few months. They would handle that is all sorted and removed in a few hours. It pretty much been being gone away. It’s still limited hassle in terms of the loss of justice coming in as well because there’s a big hit, haven’t replaced flooring and take out national turf. And yeah, there’s so many other issues and it’s been intimate. It’s getting lost you like going back as well before I before I went into foster training, because we have a tough time my family have always been involved in football for me, and making this leap to MP and making it to become a full time PT is quite difficult. My parents were like, Hey, you want to go football? There’s no career and like Sean said there’s no career in Australia Never gonna make it. You don’t know anything pretty much. It’s pretty like a tricky period. But now hopefully, I’ve shown him over the last six months from February time that he can happen captains. Anyone Really? Just put your mind to it. Yeah, cool. So prints. Like I said, for every time we hit about 400,000 pound a month, at in July time, we’ve done another thousand pounds last increase. And actually this month, so far, no investment whatsoever. There’s only one, I think it’s 10 days into it hit it. So that was really nice, really nice thing to hit Reverend team of one to 10 before and then soon to be five. So we’ve got now free full time, pts pretty much of a new person coming on board has not been as raw, obviously myself. And like I said, I don’t do any PT no boot camps anymore, just me kind of have a workout in the middle of day, and then work on the vision work on the business, obviously, and try and grow that and develop systems and develop to be able to get up a second studio. And that’s that. So this time next year, I want to be hitting roughly 20,000 pounds a year with at least 30% profit. I think that’s what’s up 60,000 pounds and have a mortgage. I’ll be my girlfriend for like six years. And all my friends have ditched in two years of being engaged, got married and had kids. No looking at me like sort itself out me and my girlfriend like common times we can so like, yeah, we get old. So yeah, so for me I still live at home and also the nice being home comfort but I have to go at one time. So yeah, get a mortgage and gotta actually better afford it and have a nice deposit down. So that’s that’s massive for me. Because before MP I never paid myself actually I think it was up to like journey time and that is when literally everything was gone my business and the business and that was it and looked at my actual bank balance. So just like literally zero or 50 p whatever it was like transfer money across. So now I’ve just an in place and the scripts not it’s it’s changed quite a lot.

Unknown Speaker
There was another slide but but that’s it. So that’s my story. Anyway, I

Sam Beagle
just want to challenge you like obviously, in six months, I’ve gone from being one one man bands haven’t seen before and be able to go away for six weeks. And I just wonder what’s stopping you from doing it as well. So thank you very much.
